THE WHY brings human rights to the debate in Latin American documentary conference
Sparking conversations about human rights through documentaries is one of the core goals of THE WHY. This Friday (22) the topic was discussed in Chile by our CEO Mette Hoffmann Meyer, who participated in a panel of the Conecta 2021 - V Meeting of the International Documentary Film Industry.
The conference is an initiative of Chilean Corporation of Documentary CCDoc (CCDoc), also known as ChileDoc, an organisation that promotes documentary film in Chile, strenghtning its distribution in the country and abroad.
For the panel "Human Rights in the core", Mette was interviewed by Ricardo Moreno, and talked about how to create impact through films, choosing the documentaries to integrate THE WHY's catalogue, the importance of dubbed versions, among others. Throughout the meeting, the participants recording of the full talk is available online, at CCDoc's Youtube channel.
Individual meetings
Mette is also joining pitching and advise sessions on this Tuesday (26). Throughout six individual meetings of 25 minutes each, filmmakers and producers will have the chance to present their films and projects. "It's such a privilege to take part in this important event, and support many places in the world where filmmakers have no support from TV or film funding", explains Mette.
