WHY STORIES? and WHY SLAVERY?: Now in Albania!
RTSH is the main public broadcaster in Albania, founded 1938 in Tirana. RTSH is known for producing high quality documentaries on national heritage topics, such as important Albanian personalities and historical events. THE WHY is happy to expand their repertoire by including 10 WHY STORIES? and all six WHY SLAVERY? films.
RTSH will broadcast all 6 films from the WHY SLAVERY? campaign, to address the pressing and complex issue of modern slavery. In addition, RTSH has selected 10 films from the WHY STORIES? collection, ranging from stories about women in India, to the history of the IRA in Ireland. Our WHY STORIES? series has been well received by other broadcasters in the region, including BHRT, our broadcasting partner in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Rialda Ocuz, BHRT:
“As Bosnia and Herzegovina continue to try and heal the scars of a conflict from 20 years ago, WHY STORIES? has provided vital content which supports the processes of reconciliation by encouraging an understanding of and respect for diversity. As Bosnia and Herzegovina, work towards a more prosperous future, WHY STORIES? offers a valuable insight into how people from other countries have worked to overcome comparable struggles.”
Documentary films are a compelling way to inform about the issues that matter the most, encourage societal debate and create meaningful change. We hope that these films will raise awareness among audiences in Albania of the struggles people different people face around the world.
