Are you our new producer?
February 6, 2017
THE WHY is looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our small but growing team in Copenhagen, Denmark. THE WHY is an NGO that initiates, produces and distributes public media series to a global audience through broadcast, cross-media platforms and outreach activities, to ensure that all people have free access to independent information. As a Producer for THE WHY you will work directly with our leadership team to produce cutting public media programmes and develop distributions channels to reach the broadest number of people possible. We are currently seeking a producer for our World Stories programme. World Stories is an annual series of 20 documentary films which THE WHY curates and distributes to broadcasters who do not have a tradition of showing fact based films.
The programme was launched in 2015 and is already being broadcast by more than 15 partners around the world. As a Producer of World Stories you will crucially be the key point of contact for our distinguished editorial board, award winning filmmakers, diverse set of broadcasters, partners and supporters. You will play a key role in curating and distributing the series, as well as growing the programme to reach millions of people around the world who do not currently have easy and free access to independent and fact based stories about the world we live in. As part of a small and growing NGO our Producers are also expected to play a key role in the day-to-day management of the organization and support, as and when needed, the development of our other WHY Projects. An ideal employee will be a self-starter, with superior project management and communications skills, as well as a keen interest in documentary films and distribution.
